DPS searching for sex offender with Panhandle connection

The Texas Department of Public Safety is looking for a high-risk sex offender who escaped from a halfway house in Houston Monday night.

According to the DPS, Timothy Rosales, 39, left the Reid Facility just after 6:00 Monday night. Rosales was under electronic monitoring. He is described as five feet seven inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. Rosales has brown eyes and numerous tattoos, including a rose tattoo on the inside of his left arm.

Rosales was convicted charges in the Texas Panhandle in 1987, both out of Potter County for aggravated sexual assault. The DPS said that Rosales has family in the Denton area and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on his location is asked to call their local police department.
