DPS confiscates cocaine and marijuana in traffic stop

A traffic stop on March 25 in Carson County yielded more than $350,000 in cocaine and marijuana.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted the stop at approximately 5:34 p.m. of the eastbound recreational vehicle on I-40 for a traffic violation.
The driver of the recreational vehicle was identified as Ignacio Hernandez, 60, of Fowler, Calif. The trooper discovered 47 bundles of marijuana and two bundles of cocaine in the floor of the RV. The more than five pounds of cocaine is valued at more than $156,000, and the 47 pounds of marijuana is valued at more than $208,000.
Hernandez was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail. The drugs were allegedly being transported from California to Oklahoma City.
