Downtown hotspots this weekend

If you're looking for something to do this weekend there are a couple annual events still drawing big crowds to the downtown area..

You've got Amarillo's Largest Garage Sale down at the Civic Center. Dozens of exhibitors offering collectibles, clothes and other items all in one place, like Nascar collectibles.

"I used to have a store here in town...and this is my remaining stock. So far it's been good, people moseying in and looking and I have to get rid of what my husband called my obsession," said Vickie Holman.

Plus, it's Center City's 16th Annual Block Party in downtown. It includes five stages, 27 bands, food, vendors and a guaranteed good time. Click here to see all the activities.

"Our mission is to bring people downtown so you can see what's new, what's different. all of out great clubs and restaurants are going to be open that night. you can duck into the burger bar for a hamburger, go to rain for sushi, you're going to be able to sample everything downtown has to offer," said Beth Duke, executive director of Center City.

The block party kicks off at five Saturday, tickets are 10 bucks in advance and 15 dollars at the gate.
