      ORIGINAL:

APD has released official information on the shooting incident that took place yesterday at 35th and Virginia St.

Just before 3 p.m., officers were sent to the 3300 block of Lewis Lane on a verbal argument between a separated husband and wife.

As officers were responding to the area, additional calls were received that shots had been fired. It is believed that the husband was in the process of removing some personal items from a vehicle that he and his wife shared.

The wife, later identified as Andrea Maria Hadaway, 35, came out of the house and confronted the husband and a verbal argument ensued.

The husband attempted to leave when Andrea partially climbed in the driver's side window of his Dodge Ram in attempt to keep him there.

While the husband was driving down the street with Andrea on the side of the truck, Andrea bit part of one of his fingers off.

Somewhere near 34th and Lewis, Andrea either jumped, fell or was pushed off the truck.

By this time, two other males had gotten into a white Ponti a c Grand AM from the original address on Lewis and began chasing the Dodge pickup.

As the pickup was trying to elude the Pontiac, the occupants of the Pontiac fired at least three shots at the pickup near the intersection of 34th and Patterson.

The truck continued to evade the Pontiac as the vehicles circled the surrounding area.

One passenger in the Pontiac told the driver to let him out near 35th & Virginia in an apparent attempt to ambush the driver of the pickup.

A few minutes later, the driver of the pickup was southbound on Virginia in the 3400 block.

The male passenger-now-pedestrian (later identified as Jeremy Kane Stalker, 36, of Amarillo) stepped in front of the Do d ge at 3414 S. Virginia and fired another round at the driver.

The driver struck the suspect (Kane) with the front of his truck, continued southbound, turned west on 35th, and turned in a northern direction where the pickup crashed into the southwest corner of a residence at 3414 S. Virginia. The residence is unoccupied.

The suspect (Kane) was still on the front of the pickup when the driver crashed into the house.

The driver suffered multiple gunshots to the upper part of the body and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect (Kane) that was smashed into the house was located inside the house and was taken into custody.

He was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers went to the original location on Lewis for follow up, and located the driver of the Pontiac. He is identified as Preston Lerue Embry, 43.

Embry was arrested and later booked into Randall County on a charge of A g gravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Andrea Hadaway was arrested for Aggravated Assault causing serious bodily injury.

Another female, Kayce Leann Keith, 28, was in the residence on Lewis and was arrested for outstanding local municipal warrants.

Officers recovered a weapon under the truck at the accident scene on Virginia, and a black pellet gun at the residence on Lewis.

Officers also located a small amount of methamphetamines near the crash site on Virginia.

The victim -- the driver of the truck -- remains hospitalized. The other suspect is being guarded at a local hospi t al and, upon medical released, will be booked on Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge.

      The incident remains under investigation.
