Clovis Municipal Schools hire new deputy superintendent

Clovis Municipal Schools recently hired Carrie Bunce as Deputy Superintendent to begin on Monday.

On June 11, a 10-member interview committee interviewed seven candidates for the position of Deputy Superintendent of Operations.

Bunce has accepted the position of Deputy Superintendent of Operations for Clovis Municipal Schools.

Bunce has served as the Accountability Coordinator since July 2013 where some of her duties included providing professional development to staff, District EPSS Plan, and the creation of the District's Safe Schools Plan.

Prior to 2013, she was the Central Office Grant Programs and Instructional Specialist. Additionally, Bunce served as the principal at Mesa and Barry Elementary Schools from 1998-2011 and taught at Sandia Elementary from 1990-1998.

Bunce has provided 23 years of dedicated service to the children of Clovis.

Bunce moved to Clovis in 1970 and is where she and her husband currently reside.

Her new position will begin on June 16. This vacancy was created by the reassignment of Jody Balch.
