Clovis man sentenced 8 years for drive by shooting

Franciso Naranjo, 33, was sentenced to 8 years for 2011 drive by shooting incident in Clovis.

33-year-old Francisco Naranjo was sentenced to 8 years in prison for a drive by shooting in 2011.

According to Ninth Judicial District Attorney Matthew Chandler, Naranjo plead no contest to shooting at or from a motor vehicle, conspiracy, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges that stem from a December 2011 incident in which Naranjo shot at a victim's vehicle five times, striking him in the leg.

Judge Stephen K. Quinn sentenced Naranjo to the maximum sentence of eight years and Naranjo was then taken into custody and will be transported to the New Mexico Department of Corrections.
