On September 5 around 2:00 a.m., the Clovis Police Department was sent to 1000 N. Luther King Boulevard for a call of shots fired.

According to Clovis Police report, a caller reported hearing shots behind their apartment complex and that a man was lying on the ground.

When officers arrived they discovered 30-year-old David Mcdonald lying on the ground with a bullet wound to the right shoulder area.

At 2:30 a.m., Mcdonald was sent to Plains Regional Medical Center where medical staff tried to revive him, he was later pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m.

The 9th Judicial District Major Crimes Unit are currently investigating this Homicide.
