Clovis man arrested in connection with homicide

C lovis Police have arrested a man in connection with the stabbing death of Andrew Gama.

Clovis Police say they took 19-year-old Luciano Guerra into custody without incident at his lawyer's office in town.

Guerra has been formally charged with the stabbing of Gama.

In Clovis, New Mexio, early Saturday morning, Andrew Gama, 21, was taken to the Clovis Plains Regional Medical Center for stab wounds in his torso.

He was pronounced dead a few hours after being admitted to the Emergency Room. Clovis police said, in a press release, they were dispatched to a "fight in progress" in apartments near Charlotte street.

There they found blood in the parking lot consistent with the stabbing.

It is now a homicide investigation. Police are questioning the man who dropped Gama off at the hosptial, along with conducting interviews with witnesses, neighbors, friends.

At this time the motive for the murder is unknown.
