City of Amarillo is partnering with the Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society and DAWGSnTexas in support of PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend.

In addition to Animal Control's new hours on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the shelter will be open from 1-4 p.m. May 4.

The Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society will have the same hours and will offer half price pet adoptions. You can help one of millions of loveable, healthy cats and dogs their "fur-ever" homes this weekend through adoption - and at half of the cost.

Dogs: $50

Puppies: $55 (includes mandatory Parvo test)

Pit Bulls: $60

Cats/Kittens: $30

During these weekend's adoption event, the fees will be cut in half and will cover the first set of vaccinations, spay or neuter (if there are no complications) and a microchip implant.
