Citations issued in Darrouzett pipeline explosion

After months of investigation, Nick Thomas Inc.has been hit with two citations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for its role in a pipeline explosion near Darrouzett that killed two people.

The citations are for not determining if there were any underground utilities near their site. The second, for not contacting utility companies about their job before digging. Each fine carried a fine of $3,500.

Back in June, a natural gas line exploded, after a piece of heavy equipment was believed to have hit the line causing the explosion. Two Pampa men, Steven Douglas Odell, 32, and Johnnie Mike Renner, 44, were both killed in the explosion.
