Child found dead in Hobbs, New Mexico

The Hobbs, New Mexico Police Department responded to a call at 2915 West Marland, in Hobbs, late Thursday in reference a young boy not breathing.

When they got there, they found a young boy, Julian Herring not breathing and noticed some trauma to the ear and blood in his mouth.

They started their investigation and interviewed the child's step mom, when they finished with Contessa Herring, the step mom, she was arrested and charged with abuse of a child resulting in death, she is being held on a $500,000 bond.

They boy's body has been sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy.

Contessa and her husband were from Amarillo, he was there working at a construction site.
