Carson Co. DPS drug seizure

22 bundles of marijuana, with a value of $49000, found in traffic stop by DPS.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers seized 110 pounds of marijuana along I-40 in Carson County, according to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A trooper stopped a 2003 Ford F-250 truck on a traffic violation at about 11 am, the release said.

The trooper was given permission to search the vehicle and found a false compartment in the bed of the truck which contained 22 bundles of marijuana.

The driver and passenger, Alan John Puff, 20 and Steven Allen Sowels Jr., 20, both of Fort Wayne, Ind., where arrested on second-degree felony charges of possession of marijuana and booked into the Carson County Jail, the release said.

The marijuana had a estimated value of $49000 and was allegedly being transported from Tucson to Fort Wayne.
