Elderly couple smashes into Hallmark store; 1 employee sent to hospital
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Amarillo firefighters responded to the scene of an accident Wednesday evening after a car ran into a building.
According to the Amarillo Fire Department, an elderly couple drove their Toyota Avalon into the south end of the Hallmark store on 34th and Coulter.
AFD said the couple tried to make a turn and drive back out on the north end of the store.
The couple was not hurt, but a Hallmark employee was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries caused from broken glass at the front of the store.
AFD said structural damage to the building appears to be minimal, but total damages have been estimated at $100,000.
