Canyon police are still searching for the person accused of robbing a Canyon hotel.
According to Canyon Police Department, officers responded to a robbery call at the Holiday Inn located in the 2900 block of 4th Avenue. A female clerk was working at the time of the incident and informed investigators that a man entered the store around 4:20 a.m. The suspect then demanded money from the cash register and displayed a black handgun that he had in his waistband. The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money and was instructed to wait five minutes before calling authorities. The suspect fled from the store on foot and the robbery prompted the lockdown of the West Texas A&M University campus.
A description of the suspect has been released. He is believed to be a white male in his early twenties. Approximately 150 pounds and five feet four inches tall. He was wearing a black beanie, black sunglasses, a black bandana with white skulls printed on the bandana, a gray mesh jacket and dark colored jeans.
