Cactus man killed in single vehicle rollover

Driver may have fallen asleep and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled several times and ejected the driver. He died hours later.

A Cactus man is dead after the vehicle he was ejected from the vehicle he was driving rolled multiple times.

Four miles southwest of Texhoma, Oklahoma, along US 54, Ernest Daniel Reyes, 45, was southbound when the 2009 Nissan Titan he was driving drove across the northbound lane and into the ditch.

At about 8:40 pm Reyes' vehicle went into a side skid and drove through a fence and began to roll several times. Reyes was ejected because he was not wearing his seatbelt.

Lifestar was called to the scene of accident and Reyes was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital where he later died from the injuries sustained from the crash.

Reyes was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Nancy Bosquez.

Speed is not a factor as a cause of the accident.

Texas Department of Public Safety accident investigators are continuing to investigate.
