Bush holds golf tournement for wounded veterans

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Former President George W. Bush is set to give brief remarks as the first day of competitive play begins at his Warrior Open golf tournament.

The first pairing is set to tee off Friday morning in the tournament that features two dozen wounded combat veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. This is the third year that the George W. Bush Presidential Center has hosted the two-day tournament, which will wrap up Saturday.

The tournament being held in the Dallas suburb of Irving included an additional day of play on Thursday with its first Pro-Am, which featured professional golfers teaming up with the warriors.

The tournament is part of the George W. Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative.
