Burglary group arrested

Monday evening at approximately 6:00 p.m. Amarillo Police Department SWAT officers observed a burglary suspects vehicle at a house in east Amarillo. Officers were waiting for the suspects to come back to the vehicle when 3 men got into the vehicle and began to drive away.
Officers followed the vehicle to the Tradewinds neighborhood where one occupant of the vehicle forced entry into a residence in the 3800 block of Willow. The suspects began loading items from the house into the vehicle when additional officers were called in to apprehend the suspects.
As officers approached the men, two of them ran away while one was caught inside the garage. The stolen items were recovered including firearms reported stolen from previous burglaries.
31-year-old Derrick Coley, 17-year-old Daniel Martinez and 20-year-old Zachery Fornier were arrested and booked into Randall County jail for burglary of a habitation and evading arrest.
According to APD, additional charges are pending as the investigation continues. Further investigation in the case has led officers to other locations were several items including; purses, jewelry, computers, power tools, electronics and other items have been recovered.
