Borger shooting leaves one man dead, another in custody

At approximately 6:30 p.m., Borger Police officers and emergency crews were dispatched to 918 Nelson St., in reference to shots being fired.

Lieutenant Anthony Griffin said a family disturbance led to the shooting of a 47-year-old male. The 47 year old died from multiple gunshot wounds, while a 23-year-old male was taken into custody.

A possible eyewitness was also transported to the hospital with chest pains, but was not injured due to the shooting.

BPD is not releasing names at this time until all family members have been contacted.
