Bomb found in the Blue Hole

State Police found a bomb in the Blue Hole.

New Mexico State Police bomb squad responded to the Blue Hole located near Santa Rosa, NM after a visitor reported a suspicious device in the water.

According to a press release from Sergeant Emmanuel T. Gutierrez, the State police evacuated the Blue Hole park and set up a wide perimeter.

Bomb team members found the device and rendered it safe. Officers did confirm that the device was a explosive device.

As a precaution police conducted safety sweeps of the entire park, using a bomb detecting K9.

Police are still investigating the scene said Gutierrez.

There were no reported injuries or property damage related to the incident.
