Boil water notice still in effect for several areas in Amarillo.

According to the City of Amarillo, the water main has been repaired. Crews completed the work on the water main early Tuesday morning. However sanitary testing is still required before the Boil Water Notice can be lifted. The testing is expected to be finished by Thursday.

"To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and for making ice should be boiled or cooked prior to consumption," says Floyd Hartman, assistant director of Utilities. "The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water or ice from some other suitable source."

The Boil Water Notice remains in effect for the following areas.

9500 - 9700 blocks of Crystal Avenue

8500 - 15300 blocks of Amarillo Boulevard East

1100-1300 blocks of Folsom Road

10001-10200 block of Triangle Drive
