Bands come together for benefit concert

Sigma Nu from West Texas A&M University hosted Rattlesnake Roundup Saturday to raise money for the A.J. Swope Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Rattlesnake Roundup featured bands like Mike Chism & Hollow Point, Lee Scheetz & Borderline and headliner Cody Canada & The Departed.

The benefit concert took place at the Rex Baxter Building on the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds. Tickets were $20 and proceeds went not only to the A.J. Swope Memorial Scholarship Fund but also Wounded Warriors.

A.J. Swope's brother Dirk Swope said the event was a great way to honor the life of his brother.

"Music was my brother's passion and he really respected all of the bands that are playing," said Swope. "This would make him happy."
