Baby shower provides information and fun for mothers

Mothers and mothers-to-be from all over the Texas Panhandle spent their Sunday at a community baby shower hosted at the Ambassador Hotel.

Cake, clothes and accessories were available for purchase from different vendors. Doctors, chiropractors and health experts offered advice to help both mothers and their babies remain healthy during pregnancy.

Jessica Rodriquez of Cumulus Media said the event attracted a lot of people because it is something different.

"There's nothing else in Amarillo like it," she said. "There's a little bit of everything out here that would appeal to a family, either the mother, the kids, the pregnant woman, and we've got some dads out here, too."

Games and prizes added to the festivities, and mothers off all ages were able to prepare that much more for their upcoming bundle of joy.
