Amarillo Police Department officers are investigating after receiving reports of a robbery at A OK Amusements in Amarillo.
APD said officers responded to the slots type business in the 500 block of Fillmore at approximately 10:40 a.m. Wednesday morning. Responding officers learned from the store clerk on duty that a hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s entered the store, approached a machine and began to play.
According to the store clerk, the man then grabbed a bank bag the clerk was holding as he stood behind the counter. The clerk and the suspect wrestled for the bag until the suspect pulled back his jacket and revealed a silver semi automatic pistol lodged in his waistband. At that point the clerk let go of the bag and the suspect ran out of the store.
The suspect was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, a black beanie cap and tennis shoes. APD thinks the suspect may have had a shaved head and was possibly driving a gray Chevrolet Trailblazer.
