TCEA Area 16 Robotics Competition results

The Area 16 Robotics Competition was held at Region 16 Saturday where 63 teams composed of more than 200 students participated in four different robotics competitions. (ABC 7 Amarillo- Dakota Kessler)

The Area 16 Robotics Competition was held at Region 16 Saturday where 63 teams composed of more than 200 students participated in four different robotics competitions.

Students from grades 4-12 designed and programmed Lego-based robots to perform specific tasks.

Many Panhandle schools were represented today including Dimmitt ISD, Happy ISD, Pampa ISD, Amarillo ISD, Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips CISD, Silverton ISD, The Well STEM Center, Canyon ISD, Panhandle ISD, Pringle-Morse CISD, Clarendon ISD, Hart ISD, Lefors ISD, Hereford ISD and Kelton ISD.

Results for the day are as follows:

Intermediate Inventions:

1st Place - Phoenix Corporations - Kelton Steam Academy

2nd Place - Team Vision - Hereford Junior High

Intermediate Area:

1st Place - Solaris Industries - Windsor Elementary Amarillo ISD

2nd Place - Dimmitt MS 4 - Dimmitt Middle School

Advanced Inventions:

1st Place - STEMinists - Perryton High School

2nd Place - Havoc - Panhandle High School

Advanced Arena:

1st Place - The Anomalies - Happy High School

2nd Place - Swole Patrol - Perryton High School


All of these teams will advance to the TCEA state robotics contest in April in the Austin area.
