ARC makes presentation at City Commission

It was standing room only as Amarillo residents attend the City Commission meeting about a possible multi-sports complex hoping to be built in Amarillo.

William Ware and Trevor Caviness, representatives of the proposed Amarillo Recreation Center presented their proposal to the Commission Tuesday.

Supporters packed a standing room only meeting.

Representatives of the various sports organizations who are involved in the push each spoke to the Commission.

There were two opposed to the proposition, but the Commissioners seemed positively inclined toward the multi-sports complex.

They suggested to City Manager Jarrett Atkinson that the matter be put on the agenda next week.

The question is whether the $30-million dollar bond be put before voters in November.
