APD: Amarillo teen dead after one-vehicle crash in North Amarillo
UPDATE 5:49 A.M.,
Amarillo Police Department identify the teen as 18-year-old Fernando Guadalupe Garcia.
Garcia had been northbound on Mirror St at a high rate of speed and lost control of this truck as the road was curving resulting in him leaving the roadway rolling the vehicle.
According to Media Release, "Speed and no seat belt are factors in the wreck. It is possible he was on his phone at the time of the collision."
At this moment, the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department is investigating the incident.
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A one-vehicle crash in north Amarillo Wednesday night has resulted in the death of a local teen.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, the teen was driving north on Mirror Street at high speeds.
APD said the teen hit a dip and rolled several times.
No one else was in the car with the teen, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Police said distracted driving and speed were factors in the crash.
The crash is currently under investigation.
