APD searches for information on suspect(s) involved in midnight shooting that left 14 cartridge casings outside a home and sent one woman to the hospital.
On June 8, Amarillo police officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of NE 11th in reference to a shooting that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 58-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the lower body. Responding officers found that the suspect or suspects had fired shots from outside the house through the walls into the house. Bullets penetrated two rooms of the home, including the living room where the victim was when she was struck. The victim was transported to a local hospital with possible life threatening injuries, and later transported to another facility for further medical treatment.
The woman was inside the residence with another woman and a man, both of whom were uninjured. Officers recovered at least 14 spent cartridges casings outside the home. Detectives and CSI responded to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. There are no suspects in this incident at this time.
