Amarillo police officers witness a man stealing an ice chest from the back of a pickup, book him into Potter County.
On July 4, just after 3 a.m., Amarillo police officers were checking the lot of the La Quinta Inn at 2108 S. Coulter when an officer noticed a gray Cadillac prowling the lot.
The Cadillac stopped behind a silver pickup. The man that had been driving the Cadillac was seen carrying an ice chest away from the pickup and placed it in his back seat.
Officers detained the suspect. They contacted the hotel guest that owned the pickup.
They learned that the suspect had stolen the ice chest from the bed of the pickup.
The officers booked Earman Eugene Gilbreath, 58, into the Potter County Detention Center on a charge of burglary of a vehicle with two or more previous convictions.
