APD Officers search for armed robbery suspect

Amarillo Police Department Officers responded to a robbery call at Subway in the 3300 block of Interstate 40.
According to police, a female employee was working at the time of the robbery. She told police that a man came into the store and ordered a drink. When she opened the register to take his payment he pulled out a gun. She backed away from the counter and he reached over and grabbed money from the register. He then told her to lift of the cash drawer to check for more money however no money was kept there. The suspect then left the store.
He was last seen running north away from the store. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 5'10", in his mid twenties and weighed approximately 190 pounds. He had some facial hair and was wearing an orange or red and white cap with the University of Texas logo on the front. He was also wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.
APD said there were no injuries and no arrests have been made at this time.
