APD investigates Amarillo bank robbery

UPDATE: According to APD two suspects may be involved in the incident.

APD said a male suspect entered the bank and stood in line at approximately 4:47 p.m. Monday. When it was his turn to approach the counter, the suspect approached the teller and demanded money. APD said the suspect did not reveal a weapon but implied that he was armed during the robbery. The teller then gave the suspect a stack of money. The suspect then fled the building and got into a white Ford F-150 pickup truck that was waiting outside.

According to APD, the driver of the pickup is the second suspect, no description for this suspect was given at this time. The first suspect is described as a mixed race male with curly hair, 5'8" to 6'0" tall and he was wearing a blue and white jacket.

At this time APD and the FBI are investigating the incident.


Amarillo Police Department investigators are on scene of a bank robbery at Texas Plains Federal Credit Union at 9th and Madison.
