At about 4:30 a.m. Amarillo police officers were searching the area for three suspects involved in the shooting and burglary in the 7900 block of Pineridge Drive when they noticed a silver 2003 Chevrolet that seemed to be prowling the area. A computer check showed that it had been stolen from an apartment complex parking lot in the 4200 block of S. Western on June 5. It had been left running and unattended briefly.

The owner was going back to his car when he saw a female drive away in the vehicle. The stolen car was being driven by Christopher Scott Scalici, 27, of Amarillo.

Scalici was booked into Randall County Jail for unathorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) over one gram in a drug-free zone, possession of under two ounces of marijuana in a drug free zone, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Investigators determined that a female passenger in the car, Melisssa Ann Kennedy, 31, was who originally stole the car.
