Near 600 people attended the Chamber Annual Banquet, Thursday evening at the Amarillo Civic Center.
The banquet is celebrating the success and excellence of young professionals and local businesses as well as chamber events.
â??I think itâ??s important for Amarillo to recognize young business women, and men that are going above and beyond in the community and such an early age,â?? said Jason Harrison Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. â??These will be the leaders of our community in the future.â??
Every year the chamber strives to create economic opportunity, growth and community success.
â??With the economy not near as strong as it ought to be these days, and you look at location like Amarillo it makes me extremely proud to be a part of an organization that drives economic achievement that you just don't see in other parts of the country,â?? said Tim Archer, Suddenlink/Banquet Sponsor
37 awards recognized the, Top Businesses for New, Small, Medium, and Large categories, and the Top 20 under 40 Business Professionals.
â??As a former Top 20 under 40 recipient, Iâ??m extremely thrilled to be able to share that experience with these guys,â?? said Archer. â??It meant so much to me, because it validated all the hard work and effort that you'd put forward.â??
The businesses that won or were nominated tonight are only a few that are doing well in Amarillo, and although the chamber gave out many awards, it too has received national recognition for the popular chamber barbeque.
Thursdays event was sponsored by Suddenlink and B&W Pantex.
