Amarillo Warrant Round-Up whips into gear

The warrant notice people will receive if they have oustanding warrants.

It's that time of year again, Warrant Round-up time.

Amarillo Police along with the City of Amarillo Municipal court will be participating in the statewide Warrant Round-up. The Round-up starts today, Feb. 14.

Those with outstanding Amarillo Municipal Court warrants will soon be receiving warrant notice postcards in the mail.

Those cars are intended to inform people with warrants to contact the court to clear up the warrants before officers start serving them.

On Feb. 27, the Amarillo Police Department will assign officers to find the people with outstanding warrants. The officers will attempt to find the people at their homes, places of employments or wherever they can be contacted.

38,916 warrants are outstanding with the Amarillo Municipal Court, Victoria Medley, City of Amarillo Court Administrator said.

The Municipal Court is open Mon-Fri from 8-5. The court's late hours are on Thursday when it's open until 7 p.m.
