      Amarillo Sox win at home

      SOX WIN

The Amarillo Sox opened a brief three game homestand with a walk off 5-4 win over Grand Prairie. The Sox went into the game needing to beat the AirHogs since the two teams were scheduled to meet 9 times over the final 19 games of the season.

Wednesday night is Make-a-Wish night and Affiliated Foods has donated three thousand hot dogs and fans can buy 'em for 50 cents, as long as they last and fans can get into the stadium free, again courtesy of Affiliated. There will be a raffle for an outdoor swingset to benefit Make-a-Wish and one Wish-Kid will be granted his wish during the game.

      COURT HAPPENINGS

A host of high school volleyball games for metro area schools on Tuesday night. While school yet to start for most of the teams, no problem hitting the court for games. The hi-lite game saw rivals Amarillo and Tascosa meeting for the only time this season since AHS now a 4A school while THS in the 5A ranks. As you would expect, another good battle between the two with the Lady Sandies winning in five games.
