Mon, 08 Jul 2013 21:40:25 GMT — The Amarillo Sox on an important eight game road trip and the boys of summer are not off to a good start.ã??Amarillo opened the trip with the best winning percentage in the American Association and taking on the team second in the category, Wichita. The Wingnuts also in first place, shutout the Sox in the opener 7-0, but Amarillo had a chance to get even in game two, however the relief pitching could not get the job done.The Sox scored three runs in the 8th inning to take a 5-4 lead, but the â??Nuts scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth with two outs to record a second straight win. Amarillo now 29-19 on the season and will play games three and four Monday and Tuesday before going to Lincoln, Nebraska for four games.
