Amarillo police search for hit and run driver

The Amarillo Police Department is searching a hit and run driver.

Amarillo Police Officers were called out to a motor vehicle striking a pedestrian hit and run collision at West Amarillo Blvd. and North Adams Saturday at 11:47 a.m. Responding officers found that a 2013 Hyundai 4-door driven by 25-year old Nicolas Ray Carr had had been westbound on West Amarillo Blvd., slowing to turn northbound onto North Adams Street. A pedestrian was walking east bound crossing North Adams. The Hyundai was rear ended by a white 4-door. The Hyundai then spun into the pedestrian. The white 4-door fled the scene. The pedestrian is a 45-year old man and was taken to local hospital with life-threatening injuries. His name is being withheld until the next of kin can be located. Carr was not hurt.

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department. If anyone has any information concerning the white 4-door with front end damage that fled the scene they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400 or the Amarillo Police Dept at 378-3083.
