Amarillo Police Investigating Early Saturday Morning Murder

UPDATE: According to APD, preliminary autopsy results indicate Nathaniel Wayne Miller died from sharp force trauma.
According to the Amarillo Police, an early morning murder occurred involving family members. According to reports from the APD, they were dispatched to 4530 Maverick, Apt. 215D, on a call of a female bleeding. When they arrived, the found a female bleeding with lacerations. She was transported to a local hospital, then sent to a medical facility in Lubbock.
The officers also found a deceased man, later identified to be Nathaniel Wayne Miller, age 30. A suspect was located at a nearby home and identified as Joseph Keith Hayes, age 33. He has been booked into the Potter County Correctional Facility and charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon on a family member.
An autopsy has been ordered on Nathaniel Wayne Miller and results will be released when they are received. We will continue to keep you updated as we get more information.
