Amarillo pizza parlor shuts down
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
Pizza 9 in Amarillo has closed its doors indefinitely.
The owner of the restaurant, John Harstine, told ABC 7 News, he was forced to shut down operations after getting behind on bills.
The realtors have placed a door bolt on the front doors.
Harstine explained that this Pizza 9 location had a rough summer in sales, and they weren't able to get caught up on finances in time. He noted a lack of brand recognition in the area may have contributed to the restaurant's demise.
The Amarillo location opened up on 34th Ave and Georgia Street about a year and a half ago, with the current owners taking over in October 2016.
Harstine said he is hopeful they can find a new buyer for the business.
The franchised-company has locations in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
