Amarillo man arrested on child pornography charges

n Thursday July 25, 2013 Amarillo Police Department Crimes Against Persons Squad obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 2200 block of north Woodland.

According to APD the warrant was due to an investigation triggered by a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. This information allowed APD investigators to link a computer used to send a file that may have included child pornography.

The following day APD searched the residence and took several computers, CD files, DVD files and other hardware. Later review of the seized materials uncovered multiple images of child pornography.

42-year-old James Metcalf was interviewed by police later that day. Metcalf was arrested for seven counts of possession of child pornography and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
