According to AAA Fuel Gauge report, Amarillo gas prices have fallen from $3.13 per gallon to $3.05 a gallon in the last week.
The price decrease is consistent with the statewide drop in fuel cost where retail gasoline prices in Texas fell 6 cents to $3.04 per gallon.
Despite the drop in prices, AAA said Amarillo motorists are still paying the most for gas in the state. Drivers in Beaumont and Galveston are paying the least at $2.99 per gallon.
AAA said analysts are expecting gas prices to continue to decline through the end of the year because of sufficient supplies, a shift to cheaper winter-blend gasoline, flat demand and falling crude oil prices.
