Amarillo Chamber Barbecue is back

Get ready Amarillo, the award winning Amarillo Chamber Good Times Celebration Barbecue Cook-off comes back today at 5.

Surrounding the area around the Amarillo Chamber grounds, this yearly bash provides plenty of food, fun, and drinks for everybody.

"Such a great event for our community, it really brings out our businesses and community," said Penni Bentley of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. "Just regular citizens together, they love to come out and network on this fun atmosphere with a lot of food, beverages, and just have a good time."

This year's barbecue features live music from Tom Velasquez and the Global Nomads, along with raffles for a grill and one of two round trip tickets courtesy of Southwest Airlines.

The Chamber Barbecue is a yearly event where local businesses can network in different, but fun ways.

"This shows a side of Amarillo that most communities don't see," said Richard Dyer, Desperado's Catering owner. "you can not believe, they come out of the wood work wanting to be part of this."

Tickets can be bought for a five dollar discount before 3:00 p.m., todayat $25, or after $30.
