Five units responded to a structure fire in the 3500 block of southeast 13th at approximately 3:17 a.m. Friday morning.
According to Amarillo Fire Department, the structure was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. As crews attempted to control the blaze, surrounding houses were evacuated and firefighters worked to protect the surrounding homes.
Once the main body of the fire was under control, AFD indicated that the structure suffered heavy damage throughout the entire structure. AFD estimated the structure suffered approximately $25,000 in damage.
At this time the cause of the fire has not been determined. AFD said the Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
