It was on Sept. 15, 2005, when authorities said Torres along with three other people shot nine bullets into an apartment window in Clovis. Investigators said the shots were fired after someone walked up to the apartment's back window.

10-year-old Carlos Perez was killed from one of the bullets. He died the day before his 11th birthday.

According to police back in 2005, the shooting happened after an argument that took place between two Clovis High School students, Orlando Salas and Ruben Perez.

Carlos was Ruben's younger brother who was sleeping.

As for Torres, he had been fleeing from law enforcement for more than six years. It was a highly publicized case as Torres was featured on America's Most Wanted.

Two of Salas' brothers, Edward Salas and Demetrio Salas, were convicted in the shooting death. A friend, David Griergo, was also convicted.

Edward Salas, according to officials, escaped from the Curry County Jail in Aug. 2008 and has not since been captured.

Pronews 7 has placed calls with officials from Curry County seeking further detail as to where Torres is and when he will return to Curry County.
