64-year-old robbed at gunpoint


ednesday afternoon Amarillo Police Department officers responded to a personal robbery call at the Pilot Truck Stop in the 700 block of south Lakeside.

When officers arrived, they were informed by a 64-year-old victim that he had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim told police that he had stopped when a man approached him asking for assistance on his broken down vehicle. The victim went to help the man and as they were walking toward his vehicle, they walked in between tractor trailers and walked to a group of men. The victim was asked if he played dice when he began walking away when one of the guys produced a black semi-automatic pistol and stole the victim's wallet.

According to the victim, three men then took off running and 2 men got into a black Lincoln Navigator with out of state registration.

The running suspects were last seen running south from the parking lot. The suspects are described as white males who are approximately 25 years old. One had medium brown hair, he was wearing a blue hooding and khaki shorts. The second man had short red hair, pale/light skin and was wearing a white T-shirt and khaki shorts. The third man was wearing a black T-Shirt and khaki shorts.

APD is currently investigating the incident.

The victim was not harmed in the robbery.
