A 60-year-old Florida man was killed late Sunday evening in a single-vehicle crash.
Texas Department of Public Safety says 60-year-old John E. Forier of Lutz, Fla. was driving a 1997 mercury SUV northbound on US 385 about eight miles south of Hartley.
The vehicle then veered of the roadway and DPS said Forier overcorrected back which sent the SUV skidding across both lanes.
Forier was ejected and pronounced dead on scene, DPS said. He was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
A passenger was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital in critical condition with head injuries. DPS said she was wearing her seatbelt.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
