Fri, 13 Dec 2013 21:37:13 GMT — The Lone Star Balletâ??s "Nutcracker" has been entertaining audiences since the early seventies.It began at Tascosa High School, founded by Neil Hess and his wife Camille.With the financial efforts of Sybil Harrington and the Bivins Foundation, the show moved to the Civic Center.Itâ??s reputation grew nationally.For more than twenty years school kids have been bussed in from around the Panhandle to enjoy the seasonal presentation.Vicki McLean, the Executive Director of the Lone Star Ballet, and the choreographer for the show, says, "Nutcracker is the epitome of a surreal romance and love affair with dreams that come true, or am I sleeping? Is this a dream or is this the real way I feel right now?"The Tchaikovsky ballet opens Friday at the Civic Center Auditorium and continues through the weekend.
