The Amarillo Police Department says two people were hurt after vehicles racing down the Amarillo Boulevard ran a red stop light at the intersection of Taylor.
Amarillo Police Officers were called to the scene around 10:19 p.m. Saturday night. Officers on scene tell Pronews 7 a couple of vehicles driven by teenagers were racing down the Amarillo Boulevard headed westbound when they ran a stop light at Taylor. One of those vehicles racing was a black mustang and struck a silver Lexus SUV headed southbound, driven by a female. She and one other person was taken to the hospital, however the extent of their injuries is unknown. Officers on scene say two other vehicles fled the scene. At the time of this posting, officers were still gathering vehicle descriptions on the vehicles who fled the scene.
