2 more arrested in connection with December homicide case

Tue, 12 Feb 2013 01:17:31 GMT — On Dec. 19, 2012 Amarillo Police responded to the 1600 block of south Arthur on a shots fired call.A caller told police that she and her boyfriend came home and found unknown armed suspects inside the residence. The caller told police that shots were fired and she and her boyfriend fled from the house. The callerâ??s boyfriend had been shot in the gunfire.When police arrived at the residence, they found one of the suspects deceased inside the house. The subject appeared to have died from a gunshot wound. The deceased subject was later identified as 26-year-old Leonard Torres.Upon further investigation, investigators identified the second intruder as Tony Michael Spangler, 21. On Dec. 20, 2012, APD SWAT officers located Spangler at an Amarillo motel and arrested him. Spangler was booked into the Potter County Correction Center for murder and aggravated robbery.Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. Amarillo Police made two more arrests in connection with the Dec. 19, 2012 homicide. Special Crimes Investigators developed information that Ashley Arce-Bitela, 24 and Memorie Denise Spangler, 26, were involved with the case. Bitela and Spangler were booked into the Potter County Correction Center for murder.
