Two were arrested yesterday after a search of the vehicle during a traffic stop yielded more than 10 pounds of marijuana.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop on Thursday that yielded more than 10 pounds of marijuana valued at $44,000.
At approximately 1:19 p.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Dodge Charger traveling eastbound on I-40 for a traffic violation near Conway in Carson County.
The occupants of the Charger were identified as Deborah E. Ellerkamp, 33, of Oreland, Pa., and Adam E. Hassan, 26, of Queens, N.Y.
During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered 10 bundles of marijuana in the trunk.
Ellerkamp and Hassan were placed under arrest for possession of marijuana over 5 pounds but less than 50, a third-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles to Queens.
