2 arrested after DPS finds 25lbs of marijuana during traffic stop

Two men were arrested Saturday evening after a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper found 25 pounds of marijuana inside a vehicle.

According to DPS the trooper stopped the vehicle on Interstate 40 in Gray County. The trooper requested a K-9 unit to search the suspect vehicle. During the search 25 pounds or marijuana worth $110,875 was found inside vacuum-sealed bags inside of duffle bags.

36-year-old Everick Wilkins and 22-year-old Mikhail Phidd Taylor were arrested for possesion of marijuana. Wilkins and Taylor were allegedly transporting the drugs to Lake Worth, Fla from the bay area of southern Calif.
